Entrepreneurs Club (EC) is a technology entrepreneurship program for high school students, founded in 2014 and based in the Sacramento region of California. Students build real businesses rather than simulations, working through 8 training modules over 10 weeks and competing in the Entrepreneurs Club Venture Challenge (ECVC).
The 5th Annual Entrepreneurs Club Venture Challenge takes place March/April 2027 in Sacramento, CA, with $10,000 in cash awards. Teams of 2-4 high school students apply online by Spring 2027. Since 2014, EC has reached 500+ students across 30+ high schools, with 75+ teams having competed. In 2026, 39 teams from 20 schools competed in front of 462 attendees.
Every team competing in the Entrepreneurs Club Venture Challenge needs an adult advisor: a teacher, parent, principal or mentor. The students do the work. The advisor's job is to vouch for the team and stay reachable, not to run the project.
An advisor is attached to a team when that team invites them by email from the Portal and they confirm the invitation. A team can have more than one advisor, and one advisor can support several teams. Advisors get a read-only view of each team's competition status and progress, and are copied on the messages EC sends the team.
Advisors create their own account in the Portal and, unlike students, may use a school email address. Teams of 2-4 students cannot submit a Round 1 application until at least one advisor has confirmed.
